Beyond their sweet, romantic appeal, strawberries are packed with healing nutrients, called anthocyanidins (a powerful flavonoid). This Valentine's Day, discover the surprising health benefits of strawberries, and elevate your expression of love with a cup of strawberries on the side!
Strawberries are packed with phytochemicals and essential vitamins and minerals that nourish our heart, brain, bones, gut, and more. These nutrients include:
Vitamins: A, C, E, and K, along with a range of B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, and Folate) support various bodily functions, from immune health to energy production.
Minerals: Manganese, Copper, Zinc, Potassium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Iron, and Calcium play crucial roles in bone, heart & brain health, enzyme function, and more.
Dietary Fiber: Promotes healthy digestion, immune health, and helps regulate blood sugar levels.
Beyond these essential nutrients, strawberries are a rich source of flavonoids, powerful plant compounds known for their vibrant colors and health-promoting properties. One type of flavonoid, called anthocyanidin, is particularly abundant in strawberries. Anthocyanidins boast strong antioxidant properties, offering protective qualities:
Anti-Inflammatory: Reducing chronic inflammation throughout the body.
Anti-Cancer: Reducing the risk of certain cancers through their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.
Neuroprotective: Supporting cognitive function and reducing the risk of conditions like depression, Alzheimer's disease, and dementia.
Anti-Heart Disease: Improving blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and protecting against plaque formation in arteries.
Enjoy strawberries as part of a balance diet to enhance your health and well-being.
Organic preferred (avoid pesticide residue)
Firm, plump, without mold & bruises
Shiny, deep red color (avoid dull color and patches of yellow or green)
Medium size are most flavorful (avoid excessively large strawberries)

Wash gently in colander with cool water and pat dry when ready to enjoy
If using non-organic strawberries, use diluted additive-free soap or biodegradable fruit & vegetable wash and cool water
