Amazon Best Seller! Plant-Based Meal Plan Success & Resource Guide

Believe it! There are natural food as medicine ways to improve and even reverse high cholesterol.
Pioneers including Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, MD and others have shown for decades that simply eating whole plant foods, in particularly leafy greens, and removing oil, processed & ultra processed foods, sugar, and food items from sources with a mom and a dad from the diet, helps to lowers cholesterol and much more.
In other words, eating more whole plant foods as a primary dietary lifestyle promotes the transformation of our human internal interactions (or biochemistry) and begins to heal (or strengthen) the walls of our arteries and veins. Let’s look at what makes eating leafy greens and whole plant foods so magical.
Here’s what I learned from reading a host of evidenced based research over the years. When we eat raw leafy greens it releases nitric oxide which helps promote healing in these ways:
Prevents stickiness inside arteries and veins
Creates relaxation in our arteries and veins (or vasodilation/non-tightness)
Prevents high blood pressure (or hypertension)
Prevents clogging arteries (or plaque build up leading to high cholesterol)
Prevents smooth muscle moving into plaque (which means we keep stability in walls of our arteries and veins)
Destroys foam cells (which can build up and lead to high cholesterol, heart attack, and stroke)
I love learning from others because it truly takes a community to reach the world around us with the powerful message of Food as Medicine. In fact, one of my favorite food as medicine physicians, Dr. Esselstyn, recommends eating a generous handful of leafy greens 6 times per day to heal our arteries to help normalize our cholesterol and much more. I tried this method myself several years ago and I have labs to prove that in addition to eating whole plant foods for each meal and snack, a handful of leafy greens three to six times per day improved my entire cholesterol panel!
There are countless stories of people who have chosen to eat more whole plant foods who have been able to decrease their medications, avoid stents, and even reverse disease course! I’m seeing similar success stories in my virtual first iEatMorePlants® clinic every day too! If you want support in taking your health back one meal at a time by eating more plants, reach out to me, I’d love to be your food as medicine nutritionist or food as medicine health coach!
Eat a handful of leafy greens prior to each meal and for snack. Use your most recent cholesterol labs or get labs drawn for your baseline. At the end of 3 months recheck your labs with your healthcare provider. See any improvement? Let us know!
